If you're reading this blog? post, then you've found your way to the NPSTAC.org website. You might even know a little something about the NPS? TAC?. For those who don't, I'd like to provide this brief introduction to what the NPS TAC is and, more important to this article, the purpose of the NPSTAC.org web site.

About NPSTAC: As you can read on the About page, the Newton Public Schools Technology Advisory Committee (NPS TAC) was formed in November 2006 with the goal to provide a vehicle for community input and expertise into the development and implementation of an updated three-year technology plan for the schools (see plan
here). Learn more about Year One and Year Two objectives.

About NPSTAC.org: In the January 2008, during the year two of the NPS TAC, a few volunteers launched this web site. The primary objectives of this site are:

  1. Facilitate the strategic planning, project execution and communication
regarding the Instructional Technology Plan 2008-2011 developed in year one
  2. Facilitate social networking (i.e., relationship building) between NPS teachers, staff, parents and others who are interested in supporting the use of technology for the betterment of public education in Newton, Mass.
  3. Practice what we preach! Gain experience using Web 2.0 Technologies, so we better understand the implications of including them in our 2008-2011 plan and our vision for the future even beyond that.
